Limiting how many enemies in a campaign game

Beitrag von UesugiKenshin »

You can begin playing with all the factions plus many minor races particularly if you use the largest possible map array to allow some semblance of being initially unhindered. However you can also hold down on an empire you wish to eliminate until it turns red. So therefore you can literally turn off all the major races but one and just play against however many minor races you desire.

In the manner, this essentially emulates the Dominion (Omega Alliance) being the first major power in the Gamma Quadrant and then systematically eliminating all the minor races in that quadrant. Or the Klingons beginning from scratch at Qonos and eliminating all the other races. Or the Romulans, Federation, Cardassians, Ferengi, etc.

Or you could only turn on Romulans and Klingons battling for their seperate empires. Or the Federation and Klingons battling to develop the Neural Zone.

Maybe some new players may like this better than playing against all six at the same time?

When I say "sandbix mode", that is when every other major race is turned off. The game is actually quite enjoyable this way. You still have every element except sabotage.

If you play a sandbox game, then you have to genuinely understand how the sales of mined materials work as your profits will be less as you sell ore or crystals on the galactic exchange. But since you are the sole empire, then only your construction affects it.

But I'm playing a game as the Omega versus the Khaoran and very quickly, titanium rises from 94 to 211+ and it's difficult as I am doing unusual terraforming and so less titanium is generated ...at first...but you can make make a sustainable profit way easier with two empires, but it takes very creative resource routing. File that away for later when you grasp the basic concepts.

With 3+ empires, believe it or not, in some turns you can sell mined materials making 100,000 to 500,000 credits every 3-5 turns based upon being very economically savvy and buying a monopoly which is a misnomer but doubles mining output (with owning many advanced mining facilities on many systems). Obviously with that much construction, then vast income could not just make buildings, but make ARMADAS.
